Cigarettes and alchol cause more damage to people than whale meat does, going to ban them too? The air in some cities is more harmful than whale meat, going to stop people breathing? Whats sad is that so called enviromentalists are more focused on stopping a few people eating some whale meat which they say is poisioness rather than trying to stop the more important and bigger thing of pollution in our oceans

You can do both. You can try and end the pollution and attempt to stop whaling. Its not exclusive.
If it was up to me i would ban cigarettes and alcohol, but you dont need to kill anything to get those. And people cant get addicted to whale meat, so in theory it should be a lot easier to stop peopke poisoning themselves.
