The Japanese and Chinese and their greed are killing the world and its resources. They have no concern over wasting the world's resources. Shark fin soup is a travesty. Maiming a living creature and throwing it back into the water while it is bleeding and suffering is a sign of the worst kind of barbarian. To take a shark's fin and throw the rest of its body away as trash is to deprive hungry people of food. Ah, but only the rich matter! For the rich, the world will be destroyed. How can the Japanese and Chinese live with themselves? They should be wiped off the face of the earth - or have their limbs ripped off and thrown into the water like they do to the sharks. Shameless human garbage! May Captain Watson sink every single one of your goddamned whaling vessels and fishing boats!

You actually started out with a lucid argument until it devolved into a call for genocide and racial cleansing. Calling for the extermination of an entire race because a tiny minority do something you disagree with is well beyond asinine or ignorant. Your credibility when from 10 to Zero in record time.

Hell, you pleople don't want to see the truth? Ady Gil and its crew were doing something on the boat while the whalers rammed them on purpose. The waterhosed them and left. And you think the crew would sacrifice their boat? For what? Ady Gil is a boat with Sea Shepherd used to go in front of the whaling ship an throw their …don't know the name anymore… a selfmade device which stops the screws from moving. The crew may have prepared a new version of it while they got rammed. And who cares if Paul watson tells lies? What about the IWC, what about politicans about other people who think they are the leaders? They all lie. At least Sea Shepherd does something against the whaling. They do it instead of us people who don't have the courage to do. Yup, I think this just about sums it up for me. You guys (and gals, of course) are mostly quite correct regarding PW; I'm sure he does lie, or rather, contradicts himself over periods of time. Yes, he has inconsistencies in his policies/aims, but I think over-all, he's a chap who's doing his best to fight a mountain of beaurocracy, without the benifits of government spinning I might add, and on the whole follows his beliefs. Its very easy to sit around at our laptops/PCs/Macs and criticise the Sea Shepherd methodology (although I am very grateful to the contibutors on this forum for their views), but it is ultimately a brave commitment to the preservation of wildlife around the globe and really should be recognised as such. Don'tcha just love democracy sometimes? Let the hatemail (or replies) begin... :-)

Paul Watson should get a harpoon up his ass and join whale haven.
Paul Watson moms fell into the ocean and the whales started to sing "We are family..... "
Thats why he is trying to save them. Looking for his mom!

I personaly think the Japs should be stoped with any means that works!! Even if it results in the loss of japaneese ships or at the cost of japaneese lives. Theese whaies have more right to live than we do They have lived in the oceans in current form for 250,000,000 years we have been around for 50 to 100 thousand so they where here first. Maybe we will get lucky and and a massive wave will rise from the ocean and wash japan away that would stop their murder of innocent whales and i think would b much deserved or maybe a couple more atomic bombs we didnt drop enough of them in 1945 or we wouldnt have this problem!!!!!

LOL. A huge wave just about did wipe out Japan a month after this post. BTW, taking a pro-whaling stance because you hate someone who is anti-whaling is like saying you should kill babies because pedophiles love babies and pedophiles are bad.

If I was slaughtering Rhino in Africa with a big "RESEARCH" sign on the side of my landrover, then proceeded to pose for camera's while I measured it's toenails and tongue, then continued to hack off it's horn and sell it in the Asian market...
Would you defend me too?

Would you defend me too? If the African authorities confirmed your actions were legal, I'd certainly have a problem with anyone attacking you and taking the law into their own hands. An intelligent and responsible person would utilize legal means to get the results they desired. Work on changing the laws or boycott the company/person you disagree with. Start a negative publicity campaign. If you decide laws only apply to the other guy, you're a fool and hypocrite.

If Japan was whaling in their OWN waters, then I might consider your point valid, but the area they are in is no where near Japan, and what Japan is doing is NOT legal.
Painting the word "Research" on the side of the vessel doesn't make it research, and they have no rights to the oceans once they leave Japan's territory waters.
You seem unable to comprehend that they are destroying entire species because of greed, nothing more.
They need to be stopped

If Japan was whaling in their OWN waters, then I might consider your point valid, but the area they are in is no where near Japan, So you don't oppose the hunting in Taiji. That's good to know. Also, why is it you believe Asians should stay in their waters while Europeans, Americans, Australians etc. regularly fish in international waters? Hmmmmmm, I sense a huge double standard here. Yes, it is. Even the Australian Government knows this. Wikileaks revealed they submitted paperwork for the ICJ case in a bid to save face and buy time -- but completely expect to lose the case. What makes it research are the peer-reviewed papers and research they undeniably do. Minke whales are not, nor have they ever been, endangered. Why the need to lie about such things?

"Minke whales are not, nor have they ever been, endangered. Why the need to lie about such things?" This is a classic example of the stretching of facts. Are you saying they only hunt minkes? Sure and they only hunt whales for research purposes....
