It seems the Sea Shepherd has a potentially powerful new weapon in their arsenal in the Earthrace powerboat. It's certainly an awesome looking ship: www.earthrace.net/They have promised to aid in the next Antarctic expedition to illegally harass whaling ships and, presumably, engage in acts of piracy alongside Paul Watson. There are also rumors that the Japanese will be bringing a warship along the next time, so this could really get interesting. I think the whalers need to step up and defend themselves with the kind of force necessary to deter the S.S. from these kinds of dangerous and illegal activities once and for all. Either way, it should be an interesting whaling season. I think the big winner in all this will certainly be the Discovery Channel. |

Nice looking boat for sure, but I'm afraid is going to be run by the same group of "Keystone Cop" cultists that are currently manning the Steve Irwin. The thing I am wondering is, with the Steve Irwin being registered in The Netherlands with the promise that the SS cult will not engage in violence, how much longer will their ship be registered? There is undeniable evidence that the SS cultists have engaged in wanton violence while under the Dutch flag.
The Japanese are not taking the attacks from the cultists lightly either. The relationship that the SS cultists have with the Australian media is actually damaging trade between Australia and Japan. The Japanese are huge trading partners with the Aussies, and right now there is some movement in starting a full on boycott of all things Aussie in Japan (Aussie wines are a very popular import in Japan). When the Japanese decide to do something, it tends to be en masse. After 9/11 Japanese travel to Hawaii dropped almost completely. Hawaii's tourism industry still hasn't come close to recovery.
And for the eco-terrorists and cultists who might be reading this, I am not pre-whaler and I do not like whale meat. Above all else, I am not a criminal and I value human life.

Correction...it WAS an awesome-looking vessel. Looks like those keystone cop cultists did get the keys, contrary to your fears. I guess the Earthrace folks who sold the boat to the hippies should have told them which side the gas is on, and which side the brake is on. Please, someone take away these high-powered boats and give them a pedal-boat, before they kill innocent people. I don't try to do quantum physics...these geeks shouldn't try to drive race boats.

Looks like that whole fancy raceboat thing didn't work out so well for the Sea Shepherd bunch.
Just before the collision the Ady Gil cut straight across in front of the bow of the Shonan Maru as shown in the first video. Then it turns around to make another run the other way. The Shonan Maru cuts toward it and at the last second the Ady Gil accelerates and gets its bow sliced off. Of course, this is NOT the story the pirates are telling.

Good day for the whalers....they put the Ady Gil out of commission for at least the rest of the season and the Barker is out indefinitely towing them back to port. 2 out of 3 down in one day. I'm glad the whalers finally have the balls to stand up to the criminals.

The Ady Gil may still be afloat as of Jan 12/10.
No one as far as I know even claimed that it sunk yet...other then Watson of course. For all we know the Japanese may have what is left of it.

The Ady Gil is not moving, the little bit of water movement you actually see behind the boat is what water it disturbed from being in the water. Next the Jap ship does swerve to a degree and hit the Ady Gil on purpose that is obvious if you are looking at an unedited video or looking at it with an open mind and not a biased one. Not only did they ram the Ady Gil they then proceeded to keep hitting them with the water cannons and not even bother to stop and help... hell they didn't even slow down...

Hell, you pleople don't want to see the truth? Ady Gil and its crew were doing something on the boat while the whalers rammed them on purpose.
The waterhosed them and left.
And you think the crew would sacrifice their boat? For what?
Ady Gil is a boat with Sea Shepherd used to go in front of the whaling ship an throw their …don't know the name anymore… a selfmade device which stops the screws from moving.
The crew may have prepared a new version of it while they got rammed.
And who cares if Paul watson tells lies?
What about the IWC, what about politicans about other people who think they are the leaders? They all lie.
At least Sea Shepherd does something against the whaling. They do it instead of us people who don't have the courage to do.

FYI, on the comment "There are also rumors that the Japanese will be bringing a warship along the next time." You might want to read up on World War II and Post War Japan. Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution states:
"Aspiring sincerely to an international peace based on justice and order, the Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes. (2) To accomplish the aim of the preceding paragraph, land, sea, and air forces, as well as other war potential, will never be maintained. The right of belligerency of the state will not be recognized.
Japan does not have any "warships", their Naval force is strictly for self-defense as is referred to as "Japanese Maritime Defense Force". Captain Watson refers to this as it seems the Captain of the SM #2 is not a whaling captain, but a Naval Officer of the JMDF. And as we find out more information on what happened to Mr. Bethune, it will eventually come out as to who the SM#2 Captain really is.

No, this site is in no way run, endorsed by or supported by anyone involved in whaling. As far as the typos are concerned, I can only apologize if you find it that distracting. Of course, if intelligent arguments can't be made, you can always try to discredit someone for a couple of typos, but I'm not sure how far that will get you.
