I know this will upset the very few people who are actually members of this site but it is true, SSCS has never been stronger. Take for instance last years injunction and the BS red notice against Paul Watson. The whaling industry figured if they went after Paul Sea Shepherd would die. They found out rather quickly that Sea Shepherd is more than one man. Sea Shepherd has turned into a global movement with tens of thousands of supporters worldwide. People call us terrorists and racists anti Japanese and pirates. My response is what do you call the Japanese members of Sea Shepherd? If we are terrorists why aren't we on no fly lists? The answer is BECUSE we are not any of those things. I know this message will fall on deaf ears and I posted earlier about no point in arguing, so really no response is necessary I just wanted to put it out there that SSCS is growing BECUSE we have right on our side. The city of Hobart has recently granted the SSCS home port status, Caroline Kennedy ambassador to Japan has come out against the dolphin slaughter in Taiji. Everyday we get stronger while world opinion turns against the slaughter of these magnificent animals.

You say your stronger than ever and yet this year the sam simon went home early as it was out of fuel, and the barker and the irwin never got within site of the Nisshin Maru, all you got this year was a handful of photos taken from the helicopter, and everytime the helicopter found the Nisshin Maru within 3-4 days you had lost it again. The injunction is working well at the moment, Watson isn't allowed to get involved with the campaign, donations are down again. An american court labelled you pirates, i think their opinion has abit more weight to it than yours on what you guys are ok. Never got within site? They trailed them for weeks. I'm asking you again have you ever been to the Southern Ocean? Have you ever witnessed the butchers at work? I have and not one piece of research was done they cut it up processed it and sent it below. I've been there how about you?

Then how come the only photos we saw of the NM this year were a couple from the helicopter? Because their vessels never got within sight of them, thats why. Did you see the photos as the ships returned to port, there must have been atleast a dozen people there waiting for them, what a party that must have been lol. You can ask again but since you ignored my reply on the other thread i'll post it here too. Until you prove you witnessed japanese whaling i don't have to answer anything, you wouldn't be the first to claim to witnessing whaling who has never left their basement. I could say i have been on a japanese whaling ship, but without me providing proof i know you wouldn't believe me so why should i believe you in the same situation? ? |

you do realise that scientific research is done in the labs onboard and not on deck so ofcourse you didn't see any research being done, samples are taken when the whale is cut up and test are then performed on those samples, it really isn't hard to understand is it

you've provided no proof that you've been there either, other than your unsupported claim.
A quick read of that link and its full of lies and misinformation. COuldn't you find a better one?
The Tsunami relief was part of a goverment tax program that stretched to 10's of billions of dollars. The whaling program has always been goverment subsidized so what difference did it make when it was goverment subsidized that time?
You do realise that the whaling fleet was based in the area that the tsunami hit, don't the families of whalers deserve just as much help to get back on their feet as everyone else?

Not when they use money that was specifically earmarked for relief efforts. As far as giving the fishing villages a chance wouldn't rebuilding homes and such be better than dumping millions of yen into "anti Sea Shepherd" measures? Loki whaling is a dying industry the courts have ruled that the research program was fake, a cover for commercial whaling, it is becoming less and less popular even amongst Japanese, so why keep it up? And why is it you feel so strongly against Sea Shepherd? I get a sense you don't particularly care for whaling, so it must be an attack on the organization itself.

And they do not have their data available. And as someone who is well educated about research, they only scan their reports. Most peer-reviewed research is readily available online and all researchers' names are listed as links so that you are able to get a bio and validity of their background and qualifications. This is a world-wide style, and other research institutes in much different subjects in Japan follow that. If I were writing an article about whales and decided to use ICR information, I really would not be able to due to it's lack of validity. They also do not have an area with data collection over time, which is concerning. They also do not drive their factory boat like it has expensive lab equipment on it. AT ALL. Especially if you see the two hour special of Whale Wars…hells no. But, maybe they aren't worried about breaking lab equipment…they probably still have enough money left over from their tsunami relief fund. It's funny that you believe it's actually research. Maybe I will go put a big RESEARCH sticker on my car and start running over every cow I see. "Well Judge, I had to collect tissue samples, you see, I used to hunt them and then all of a sudden I want to do research on them" Eventually the judge will catch on and demand I stop…so I will then move to a different part of the state and do it there. I hope you recognize that the only countries that "used" to commercially whale, are the only countries that whale for "research"…what a coincidence. |

so just because you don't agree with whaling makes their scientific papers BS yeah? Sorry it doesn't work like that, you said they only published 4 reports, i proved that you either don't know what your talking about or are happy to just lie, which is it?
The ICJ also ruled that scientific whaling in the SO was totally legal if done within the frame work set out by the IWC, and then instructed the japanese on what they need to do for this to happen. So when the japanese return next year to resume whaling you will have no real arguement to stop it

Yes but they did say that all previous research was illegal. And where are your boats this year? Ha another victory for Sea Shepherd and our clients. If they go back and then Sea Shepherd will be there to shut them down yet again. Throw whatever bs papers you want at it they've been exposed. 1035 whales for research? Even you can't be stupid enough to believe that. Why is it you're so dead set to defend these butchers? What's in it for you!? The whole world is turning against this practice thanks to organizations like Sea Shepherd, but then again I guess all of us are wrong right? Take a look at the support Sea Shepherd has compared with a pathetic site like this.
